About Kate

Kate works from her home studio in Tangmere near Chichester, Sussex. Her pots are thrown in red and white earthenware clay and hand painted in bright colours. Her designs are inspired by the garden, flowers, material patterns, patchwork quilts and samplers. A variety of functional and decorative ceramics are available.

A popular range Kate has produced is a delightful selection of individual hand-made mugs, teapots, jugs and sugar bowls, no two ever being the same! At Christmas time a whole variety of decorations are available.

Kate trained in Farnham at the West Surrey College of Art and Design where she finished her degree in 1977. After gaining work experience for a well-known slipware potter in Godalming she started her own workshop in 1981 in the Chichester area.

Kate has exhibited in local galleries and exhibitions with the Southern Ceramic Group and Chichester Contemporary Craft and more recently the Sussex Guild. She now also exhibits at the Country Living shows at the Design Centre in Islington, both in the spring and at Christmas.
